Upload a video and generate screenshot grids or capture individual frames. Runs locally in your browser — no uploads.

Free Video Screenshot Generator — Create Screenshot Grids Online

This tool generates screenshot grids from any video file directly in your browser. Upload a video, select a grid layout, and download a PNG image with evenly spaced frames, timestamps, and video metadata. No software to install, no server processing, and no file size limits.

The tool detects video metadata automatically: file name, duration, resolution, codec format, and file size. This information is embedded in the grid image for easy reference. You can also capture individual frames at any point in the video.

Features

  • Grid layouts — preset options (2x2, 2x3, 3x3, 3x4, 4x4) or custom rows and columns up to 6x6.
  • Auto metadata detection — file name, duration, resolution, codec, and file size displayed on every grid.
  • Timestamp overlays — each frame in the grid shows its exact timestamp from the video.
  • Single frame capture — pause at any moment and capture that exact frame as a PNG.
  • Local processing — your video never leaves your device. All frame extraction runs in the browser.
  • PNG download — grids and frames are exported as high-quality PNG images.
  • Branding watermark — a subtle "by kwebby.com" watermark is included at 70% opacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tool free?

Yes. It is completely free with no file size limits and no signup required.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. Your video stays on your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript.

What formats are supported?

Any video format your browser can play: MP4, WebM, MOV, OGG, and more. Chrome and Edge support the widest range.

Can I customize the grid size?

Yes. Choose from presets (2x2, 2x3, 3x3, 3x4, 4x4) or enter custom rows and columns from 1 to 6.

What metadata is shown on the grid?

The grid includes the file name, video duration, resolution, codec format, and file size. Each frame also shows its timestamp.

Why does grid generation take a few seconds?

The tool needs to seek through the video to each timestamp and capture the frame. Longer videos and larger grids take more time because more seek operations are needed.
