Free Screen Recorder — Record Your Screen Online

This browser-based screen recorder lets you capture your screen, window, or browser tab with audio and webcam overlay. No software to install, no accounts to create, and no file size limits. Your recordings stay on your device — nothing is uploaded to any server.

The tool uses the browser's built-in Screen Capture API and MediaRecorder API. It works on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Recordings are saved in WebM format, which plays in all modern browsers and video players like VLC.

Features

  • Screen, window, or tab capture — your browser shows a picker so you choose exactly what to record.
  • Microphone recording — capture your voice for narration, tutorials, or presentations.
  • System audio — record audio playing in the shared tab (available when sharing a browser tab).
  • Webcam overlay — add a picture-in-picture camera feed to the recording, positioned in any corner.
  • Pause and resume — pause the recording at any time and resume when ready.
  • Instant preview — watch your recording before downloading.
  • Local processing — all recording happens in your browser. No data leaves your device.
  • No watermark — downloaded recordings are clean with no branding or overlays.

Privacy and Security

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your screen content, audio, and webcam feed are processed locally using JavaScript APIs. No frames, audio, or video data are sent to our servers or any third party. The recording is assembled in memory and saved directly to your device. Once you close or refresh the page, the recording data is gone unless you downloaded it.
